The mission of the department is to constitute a proper and effective study environment in order to educate individuals who consider the social and cultural needs, offer functional and aesthetic solutions to the changing conditions, who are coherent with the environment and ecology, who have adopted a creative thinking habit, who are aware of the vocational responsibility and prone to multi-disciplinary  studies.

The vision of the department is to graduate well educated urban and regional planners who are competitive, progressive, respectful to the historical and ecological structure in the frame of social justice, equality and ethical basis, sustainable and applicable planning perspective at all spatial scales.
